Hello World - We are launching this blog to help guide you in choosing teeth whitening products. Our multi-year quest for safe, effective, and rapid tooth whitening has been a twisted road - and we want to work to share our knowledge.
In speaking with dentists, friends, and reading on the web - it's obvious there are a number of differing views regarding the effectiveness of various treatments and especially the use of lasers from specialized cosmetic dentists and Brite Smile. We hope to provoke an active discussion on what products work and balance the cost and time of each of these products.
With price ranges for teeth whitening ranging from $15 to $500 and up -- it's important for (most of us!) to spend our money wisely. We look forward to sharing a healthy discussion with the blog community and hopefully ending up with all of us having whiter teeth -- and some money left in our pocketbooks.

I hope your blog will turn out. It's always interesting people to learn about bleaching of a teeth.

What is Spa White tooth whitening?
Spa White is a bleaching process that lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin.
How does Spa White System work?
The Spa White light-activated whitening gel's active ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide. As the Hydrogen Peroxide gel is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching colored substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged. The Spa White light aids in activating the Hydrogen Peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. Peroxide is of little value if it doesn't get into the structure of the tooth. Mild pressure is required to accomplish this. The longer you expose your teeth to a combination of peroxide, light, heat and pressure the whiter your teeth will get- to a point.
What causes tooth discoloration?
There are many causes. The most common include aging and consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, colas, tobacco, red wine, etc. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discoloration.
Is whitening safe?
Yes, extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth is safe. In fact, whitening is considered the safest cosmetic dental procedure available.
How long do the results last?
By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend a WhiteIce kit. It packs real whitening power in the most convenient form ever- there's even a built-in mirror so you can use your WhiteIce anywhere. It fits in your pocket or purse, and is as easy to use as lip balm. Simply remove the cap, give the base a twist and rub a thin glaze of the WhiteIce on your teeth. It combines with the heat and moisture in your mouth to release its potent whitening agent. Then, after it's done its job- usually about ten minutes - ti disappears, leaving you with a bright smile and a minty-fresh breath. Also in the WhiteIce kit are 20 WhiteScience deep-cleaning teeth wipes for "priming" teeth prior to WhiteIce application. These are professional formula products designed specifically to keep your teeth their brightest. They are available only through your Salon professional.
Is there any difference between over-the-counter tooth whiteners and SpaWhite?
Yes! Over-the-counter tooth whitening strips, brush-on gels and toothpastes take weeks or months to whiten your teeth just a few shades. SpaWhite is clinically proven to whiten your teeth 4 to 9 shades in 2 consecutive 12 to 15 minute sessions.
Are there any side effects?
Most people with healthy teeth and gums will experience no discomfort during the SpaWhite process. A tingling or slight sensitivity is normal and not harmful to your gums or enamel. Ocassionally, gum or lip discomfort is experienced by particularly sensitive individuals. A slight blanching of the bums is common and normal. This is a temporary reactin to the shitening process and is not harmful to your teeth or gums, and will disappear, usually in less than a day.
How is the exposure to the SpaWhite light controlled?
Protective eyewear is required during the procedure. Light sensitive individuals including those undergoing PUVA (Psoralen + UV Radiation) therapy or other photo-chemotherapy, as well as patients taking any light sensitive drugs or substances, whether over-the-counter, prescription or homeopathic, should consult their primary physician prior to procedure.
How long does SpaWhite whitening take?
The complete procedure takes just over 30 minutes. The procedure begins with a preparation period followed by two consecutive 12-15 minutes of bleaching. (a cleaning is recommended prior to the actual SpaWhite Whitening session).

How Spa White delivers the five key elements of teeth whitening.
Peroxide Innovative, patented foam pads are saturated with specially formulated neutral pH peroxide gel. And the foam pads collect the stain material as it breaks down, you remove the stains when you remove the pads.
Light An advanced, spectrum-controlled light specifically developed for the Spa White process is positioned to apply its energy just outside of a clear lens positioned between the teeth. This unique, patented lens not only acts to guide the light into the peroxide, it also helps with delivering the next factor:
Pressure The pads are placed into pressure pockets in the lens, which squeezes them between the lens and teeth, forcing the peroxide gel into the tooth structure.
Spa White’s patented lens with upper whitening pad in place.
Heat The combination of the foam pads, pressure, and light streaming through the lens reacts with internal mouth temperature (that is where the doctor takes your temperature, after all) to raise the temperature of the peroxide.
Exposure For most people, two Spa White sessions of 12 to 15 minutes each is sufficient for an initial treatment.

Hi! www.blushteethwhitening.com
I use Blush Professional Teeth Whitening... it is 22% Carbamide Peroxide and you just fit the trays and you are good to go. I love this system. It has a sensitivity ingredient in it so your gums and teeth don't hurt and you notice results the first time you use it. I use it once a week to keep my teeth really white. I saw it on the View and it was also in the Oscars. Check out the website ...Customer service is excellent!

I have started using whitening tips that contain only naturally occurring elements to create a whitening effect. So far I have managed to make my teeth 3 shades lighter.. the difference is amazing! Especially considering how no bleach or UV exposure is used in the process.
I'll try and find the site I got them off.. hope it helps! It only took 4 days to come through in the post.

Unfortunately that is the truth of dental insurance. They do not want someone to have insurance, max it out in one month then never pay for the policy again. I would encourage you to locate a dental school perhaps to see if you qualify. I signed up online over 5 years ago for all my family dental needs and they have saved me thousands of dollars on ALL dental services. Including cosmetic, dentures and orthodontics. I have no deductibles and no limits. They even had my very affordable plan active in 2 hours and was able to use it the very same day. good luck and check them out.
